Cloud's End
As the name suggests, the Cloud's end in Mussoorie is located at a distance of about 6 km west of the Library. Cloud End bungalow was erected in the year 1838 by a British Major. The bungalow has been presently converted into a hotel named Cloud End and is positioned at the extreme west region of Mussoorie Hill. Through the Hathipaon road from Happy Valley, the Cloud's end can be reached. The entire area is covered by thick jungles. The Benog Wildlife sanctuary is just 2 km walk can also be reached. A wonderful refreshing walk, with the vast spread of flora and fauna all around is surely promised by the stretch
Gun Hill
A gun mounted on the top used to be fired heralding mid-day to enable people to adjust their watches during pre-independence days and the hill is named after it. The most famous attraction in Mussoorie, Gun Hill is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. Gun Hill offers an enchanting view of some of the highest Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri group. The point also offers a picturesque view of Mussoorie town and Doon Valley. The Ropeway distance is only 400 mtrs. And the sheer thrill of the ride is memorable. Gun Hill offers a bird's eye view of Mussoorie town and Doon Valley.
Kempty Falls
A major attraction of Dehradun and Mussoorie is the Kempty Falls are situated mid way between the Dehradun-Mussoorie path. It has a distinction of being the biggest and prettiest waterfall located in a beautiful valley and is surrounded by high mountains. The Kempty falls are stunningly beautiful set on the hilly terrains. The water splits further into five cascades cascading down from an altitude of 4,500 feet. Kempty Falls was developed as a picnic spot by the British officer John Mekinan, around 1835. It is believed that, the name 'Kempty' is a derivation of the 'Camp-Tea', the tea parties that the British used to organize here.
Lal Tibba
Lal Tibba (2438.4 m) is the highest point of Mussoorie. Lal Tibba or the Red Hill, as it literally means in local language, was also referred to as Depot Hill due to the presence of the convalescent depot. It is situated in Landhour area which is the oldest inhabited place in Mussoorie. The Indian Military services are stationed at Lal Tibba that makes access to the hill restricted. Municipality had placed a Japenese telescope here in 1967, the telescope gives you splendid views of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Banderpunch and other Himalyan ranges. Lal Tibba is considered to be the most beautiful place in Mussoorie.
Mussoorie Lake
A delightful picnic spot, Mussoorie Lake is situated on Mussoorie-Dehradun road about 6 km from Mussoorie. Developed recently Mussoorie lake provides marvelous view of surrounding valleys and villages, especially during nights. Mussoorie Lake is an artificial lake of Mussoorie.
George Everest House
The Park Estate of Sir George Everest (or) Sir George Everest House is the building and laboratory of the first Surveyor General of India, Sir George Everest. The house is situated about 6 km Mussoorie, in Dehradun District. The highest peak in the world, Mount Everest, is named after him. One can catch the panoramic view of Doon Valley on one side and view of Yamuna Valley and snow bound Himalayan ranges on the other as the house is situated at the peak of the hill. The main attraction of the hill is its memorable 400 meters ropeway ride.
Tibetan Temple
Tibetan Temple is situated in Mussoorie's Happy Valley. This Buddhist temple has some fine Tibetan artworks. The Tibetan Buddhist temple has a divine atmosphere, and those seeking solace and peace of mind must make it a point to visit here. Tibetan Temple is situated 1km from Lal Bahadur Shastri National Administrative Academy, in the Happy Valley area of Mussoorie. A visit to the temple is one of the best ways to explore the Tibetan cultural heritage. Tibetan Buddhist temple is also known as Shedup Choepelling temple and is located on the Happy Valley road close to the IAS Academy. The temple can be visited between 7 am to 5 pm.
