| Marayoor |
| One of the famous tourist spots in Kerala at a distance of 42 kilometers north of Munnaris the Marayoor. It is the only place in Kerala that has natural sandal wood forests. Mountains, rain forests, deciduous forests, riparian forests, scrub forests, brooks, Paddy Fields, river, waterfalls, rocky hills, sholas and hamlets all combine give rise to the spectacular spot. The climate in Marayoor is characterized by mild wet winters and hot dry summers. With 225 recorded species of birds, it is one of the richest areas of south India in avian diversity. The forests in Marayoor preserve a population of the endangered Grizzled Giant Squirrel. The rare white bison has been recently reported in Chinnar wildlife sanctuary. Other important mammals found are elephant, tiger, leopard, guar, sambar, spotted deer, Nilgiri thar, common langur, bonnet macaque etc. |

| Mattupetty hill station is an epitome of scenic beauty and boasts being one of the well-known hill stations of Kerala. Emerging out of the Western Ghat Ranges of south India, this tranquil hill station is located 13kms from Munnar and occupies an important position as a popular tourist destination. The Rose Garden, which adds glory to the scenic beauty of Mattupetty Hill Station and the highly Specialized Dairy Farm which is an Indo-Swiss Livestock Project are the two attraction of the hill station. The main attractions in Mattupetty are the beautiful lake, and the Mattupetty Dam, which are ideal picnic spots. The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), Idukki provides boating facilities in the Mattupetty Dam. |

| Thattekkad Sanctuary |
| Thattekkad Sanctuary one of the most famous landmarks in Kerala, Thattekkad bird sanctuary is home to almost 500 species of exotic birds. Thattekkad is described as the richest bird habitat in peninsular India. The thick tropical deciduous and evergreen cover is a safe haven for these winged creatures. Thattekkad Sanctuary. This bird sanctuary, a peninsular land of 25 sq. km is covered with deciduous forests and plantation of rosewood, teak etc. Established in 1983 it is home for some of the rarest species of birds in the world. Some of the rare varieties of birds that can be spotted here are the Bee eater, Crimson-throated Barbet, Sunbird, Black Winged Kite, Shrike, Grey Jungle Fowl, Night Heron, Falcon, White-Breasted Water Hen, Ceylon Frog moth, Hornbill, Rose-billed Roller and Blue-winged Parakeet. |
