Bakrota Hill
At an altitude of 2085 m above the sea level, Bakrota Hills is part of the Dalhousie Hill Station. A superb view of the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas can be viewed from the hill. A 5 km popular walking path around the hill offered by the Bakrota Mall is the activity attracting the tourists every year. The unpredictable golden sunshine that filters through the oak, pin and deodar trees is an exhilarating experience. The resort will offer the comfortable stay with many more sufficient facilities. Dharamsala, a three-hour drive away is the nearest air port. The nearest railhead is Pathankot in Punjab. For local transport tourist taxis and buses are also available.
Churches and Temples
The St. Francis Catholic Church, located at Subhash Chowk and the St. John's Church which is situated at the Gandhi Chowk are the most important attractions of Dalhousie as these churches are beautifully designed structures, located amidst beautiful green surrounding. Dalhousie has places of worship for many religions - Christian, Buddhist, and Hindu. Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) and Avalokiteshwara (Chenresig) are some of brightly painted pictures of some Tibetan deities seen down the Library road. Another important attraction is the rock painting of the Goddess Tara Devi, located close to Gandhi Chowk. To honor the painting, a small shrine has been constructed at this place.
Dainkund
The highest mount in Dalhousie is Dainkund provides the picture book scenery of the whole valley. Dainkund is situated at an altitude of 2755 meter. The place provides an enthralling freshness to everyone with the amazing experience of a pliable trudge in a beautiful ambience is quite spectacular. Daikund is popularly known as the singing hill as the sweet sound of the gentle breeze puffing through the trees makes a musical serenade.
The Pholani Devi Temple is the sacred place on the hill. Except a trident nothing can be found in the temple premises is the weird and wonderful fact about the temple. Trekking to Daikund is made a experienced spectacle by an amazing sight of the stunning valley coupled with the glittering rivers flowing through the crisscross riverbeds.
Kalatope
The prime attraction of Chamba District is Kalatope is 5 Km from Dalhousie, located at an altitude of 2,440 m and numerous trek paths adjoin the place. The place is often referred to as tourists' paradise and is blessed with lush landscapes, deodar forest and dales. The beauty of the place is enhanced by the snow peaks. Famous for the sanctuary, rare and endangered species of animals are the inhabitants in the Kalatop. The temperature varies from 10 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius.
Lakkarmandi is the home of dhogri families can be reached by walking along the secluded and forested road through upper Nakorota hills. Dayan Kund peak on its right and Kalatope on the left Lakkarmandi is nestled between 8,600 feet high. The little Kalatope Sanctuary has a variety of wildlife such as ibex, deer, bears and leopards.
Khajjiar
Khajjiar Located between Dalhousie and Chamba at an altitude of 1960 m, Khajjiar is often called the Switzerland of India. With its rolling meadows, majestic deodars, bubbly streams, and the sheer opulence of its natural beauty Khajjiar is really a heavenly place on the earth. The very centre there is a lake fed by countless streams that criss - cross the area. Major landmark of the area is the 12th century golden - domed temple dedicated to Khajjinag. The temple houses huge lifesize wooden images of the 5 Pandava brothers. Khajjiar is 22 km from Dalhousie and 24 km from Chamba.
Satdhara
Satdhara is one of the highlight of Dalhousie and is a wonderful place with scenic beauty, serene ambiance and very pleasant weather. It is one of the most unique of the Dalhousie Tourist Destinations. Satdhara springs are located at an altitude of 2,036 m above sea level. It literally means seven springs. These sparkling and bubbling springs are rich in mica and possess medicinal properties. A dip in the spring's water is believed to cure all physical ailments. Satdhara falls on the way to Panjpulla, another favorite sight seeing destination of Dalhousie. Satdhara is on the way to Panjpulla. Accommodation facilities are available nearby.
Subhash Baoli
The picturesque site of Subhash Badoli is located at a distance of 1 kilometer from Dalhousie. After Subhash Chandra Bose, the famous freedom fighter the place has been named. He had spent lot of time in the region in the year 1937. With huge towering trees Subhash Badoli is a charismatic spot circumscribed. The natural spectacle of the place makes is one of the most popular tourist spots in Dalhousie.
