Ahilyabai Temple
Ahilyabai Temple An alternative to the Somnath temple, Ahilyabai Temple was built. As the temple is located near to the beach, a magnificent view of the picturesque landscape around is offered by the surrounding of the temple. The Somnath beach with pleasant sands, great sea view, camel and pony rides, coconut stalls, and snack shops is present behind the Ahilyabai Temple. Ahilyabai Temple was built by the queen mother Shri Ahalyabai Holker during 1782.
Gita Mandir
Gita Mandir is a Krishna temple built by Birla family in 1970. The confluence of three holy rivers known as Triveni Tirtha is present near by the temple. Mythology says that Lord Krishna walked about 4km from Baluka Tirtha to here after hit by the arrow by a hunter Jara. Gita temple or Birla temple is a marvelous architectural beauty in Marbles. The images of Gita Hymns are depicted in the inscriptions of marble walls.
Junagadh Gate
Junagadh Gate, Junagadh gate is the gateway to Somnath and one of the main attractions in Somnath. This gate should be passed to reach the holy place of Somnath. The gate has historical significance and an ancient structure built many centuries ago. With many intricate carvings on the gate walls the gate is a striking master piece of architecture. The foreign invader ruined most parts of the structure as well during his invasion to the city.
Kamnath Mahadev Temple
Kamnath Mahadev Temple Most renowned temple located in Somnath, Kamnath Mahadev Temple is built 200 years ago by a Mayurdhwaj King. Dudhiyu Talav is the holy pond present in the premises of the temple. Gangvo Kuvo a water well and a bathing pool named as "Mahadev no Kund" are also present in temple site and believed that water has majestic healing powers. During the grandeur fair is conducted at the end of Shravan Maas every year thousands of devotees throng to this temple.
Prabhas Patan Museum
Prabhas Patan Museum, Somnath Museum or Prabhas Patan Museum located near the Somnath Temple is an archeological museum. The remnants of the earlier temples in the form of a clutter of old carved stones littering a courtyard are displayed the museum. Sculptures, coins, inscriptions in Sanskrit and Persian and some natural history specimens are the additional attraction of the museum. Prabhas Patan Museum is open from 9:00 to 12:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 hrs.
Suraj Mandir
Suraj Mandir, According to Hindu mythology suraj mandir is the place Lord Krishna was shot an arrow in the leg by hunter, mislead Lord Krishna as deer. Suraj mandir is located to north of the sangam. Many animal figures like lions and huge elephant trunks are sculptured on the temple wall. Suraj Mandir is dedicated to the sun god.
