| Chunar |
| Chunar is also a place of tourist interest at a distance of about 45 km from Varanasi. A temple of Durga is situated in a cave near in the midst of beautiful sceneries. The Chunar Fort was established by Maharaja Vikramaditya, the King of Ujjain, in honour of the stay of his brother Raja Bhrithari. Chunar is well-known for its pottery work especially clay toys. Chunar came into prominence after the visit of Babar followed by Shershah Suri, Humayun, Akbar, Aurangzeb and finally the Britishers. Akbar the great captured this fort and since that very time it remained under the Mughals up to 1772AD. In the year 1772AD the East India Company captured the Chunar fort. The fort houses the Sonwa Mandap, sun dial and a huge Well. |

| Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary |
| About 70 km south-east of Varanasi Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Chandauli District. The wild park is located on Naugarh and Vijaigarh hillocks in Vindhya forest range in an area of 78 sq km. Typical dry deciduous forests occupy the sanctuary. Common species found in the park are blackbucks, chital, sambar deer, nilgai, wild boar, porcupine and Indian gazelle. The reptilian species include gharial and python. The waterfalls located within the forest area are Rajdari and Deodari. The best time to visit the place is Mid-November to mid-June. The nearest railway station to Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary is Mughal Sarai Junction Railway Station. |

| Tibetan Temple |
A beautiful Buddhist shrine located at Sarnath in Varanasi District is Tibetan Temple. Enshrining the beautiful statue of Shakyamuni or the Buddha in this traditional style temple is one of the great architectural works in Sarnath. Decorated with Thangkas or Tibetan Buddhist paintings and frescoes the temple stands uniquely. A major attraction of this temple is the Prayer wheels, which are seen outside the temple building, usually contain paper scrolls with prayers or mantras written on them.
