Nagarjunakonda
About 1700 years ago, Nagarjunakonda used to be a prosperous Buddhist town in Andhra Pradesh. Nagarjunakonda, meaning the hill of Nagarjuna, was named after the Buddhist scholar and savant Acharya Nagarjuna who lived around the turn of the 2nd century AD. The museum is situated on an island in the Nagarjunasagar dam.
Nagarjuna Sagar Dam
Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is one of the largest dams built in Asia. The tallest masonry Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is certainly the pride of India, This colossal dam supplies water for irrigation purposes to the districts like Nalgonda, Prakasam, Khammam and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh catchment area of 215000 km² (83012 mi) And is one of the largest networks of canal systems.This mighty Nagarjuna dam, which was completed in 1969, owing to its confounding height of 124 meters, and 1 km long, and has 26 crest gates. Nagarjunasagar Dam can store up to 11, 472 million cubic meters in its reservoir.
Panakala Narasimhaswamy Temple
On the top of the Mangalagiri hill there is a famous temple called the Panakala Narasimhaswamy temple, which has been attracting pilgrims from a very long time, and from all parts of the country.

Mangalagiri hill means an auspicious hill, and it is a part of the Eastern Ghats. This place is one of the eight important Mahakshetras of India, which was meant by the Lord to be taken as His own abode, for the redemption of humanity from sin. The origin of this temple with its presiding deity
known as Panakala Nrusimhaswamy is traced to the Krithayuga. The temple is situated midway on the side of a hill.
Phirangipuram
Mary Matha Church: Phirangipuram is significant and unique due to the reason that its history of Origin of Catholic Chrisitianity in this village. The prime attraction here is Mary Matha Church which attracts devotees from all over the state. Phirangipuram is considered an origin for Roman Catholics in AP and though it has got all communities there is absolute unity among people.Deity worshipped Mary Matha (Puneeta Annamamma Mata) Special Prayers are offered on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter Day. Phirangipuram is situated at a distance of 22 km from Guntur and 24 km from Narsaraopeta.
Prakasam Barrage
Guntur and Krishna Districts are connected by the Prakasam Barrage built on River Krishna, stretches 1223.5 meters across the Krishna River. It was named after Sri Tanguturi Prakasam, the first Chief Minister of the state. The Prakasam Barrage was completed in the year 1957 and since then has been serving Vijayawada and the krishna delta. One of the first major irrigation projects of South India, the Prakhasam Barrage in Vijayawada was successful in its mission. The reservior made by this dam is a good attraction for tourism and it is considered to be official pilgrim lake (called in Telugu as Koneru) of Goddess 'Kanaka Gurga'.
