| Kondapalli Fort, on the hill with embracing and an impressive three storeyed rock tower has witnessed the glory of many dynasties dating back to 7th Century, a good picnic spot, is assumed to be built by Prolaya Vema Reddi, the founder of Reddy kingdom of Kondaveedu. Some historians claim that the fort was built by King Krishna Deva Raya. |

| In olden days it served as a business centre. The fort was used as a military training base by the British rulers, attracting steady growth of tourists. The fort got renovated later under the control of the Qutub Shahis. 'Kondapalli Toys' the world famous for toys made with a special light-weight wood that's found on the hills here and painted with vegetable dyes, and vibrant enamel colours are world famous artistic wonders. They are made by artisans said to have migrated from Rajasthan several generations ago..Most popular toys are ‘Dasavatarams’(Ten incarnations of lord Vishnu) elephant with Ambari, palanquin-bearers carrying bride and bride-groom, toddy tapper, set of village craftsmen,besides animals. |
